I was in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) for a day on 26Jun09.. while the city is one of the most humane and fascinating, I found the heat and humidity stifling...
I had some free time in the afternoon and wandered around the Howrah bridge (where to my dismay I learnt that photography was prohibited - due to the terrorist problem)..and I took this photo of children cooling off in the Hooghly river. I have placed a slide show of Kolkata's wholesale flower market at Mullick Ghat (Kolkata's flower people) here [link] ( a word of caution here; the work is photojournalistic and may lack the WOW factor ! ) |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
